The Shady Grove Baptist Church Gospel Choir will celebrate their 45th singing anniversary during the Sunday morning worship service on November 15, 2015.
The guest speaker for this service will be Rev. Dewey Whittenburg, associate minister of Mt. Sinai Missionary Baptist Church.

Congratulations to the Shady Grove Gospel Choir. The choir celebrated its 44th anniversary during the morning worship, Sunday, Nov. 16, 2014.

The Shady Grove Baptist Church Junior Praise Dancers, “Anointed Praise,” will celebrate their first anniversary on Sunday, Aug. 3, 2014 at 4:00 p.m.

The Shady Grove Praise Singers celebrated the 35th anniversary of their singing ministry on Sunday, June 1, during the 11:00 Morning Worship Service. The Rev. Katina Posey, associate pastor of the Grace Community Church in Shelby, North Carolina, was the special speaker.
The Praise Singers ministry is expanding its vision to help sick and shut-ins, and provide educational opportunities for young people through travel and tourism. The group will travel to Washington, DC in July to visit The White House, The Capitol, The Vietnam Memorial, Holocaust Museum, Martin Luther King Memorial, Arlington Cemetery, Baltimore Harbor, and other tourist attractions. Persons interested in traveling with the Shady Grove Praise Singers should contact the group.

The Shady Grove Baptist Church family will celebrate its 133rd anniversary on Sunday, May 25th, during the 11: a. m. worship service.
Pastor Lee Byers will deliver the anniversary sermon and the Shady Grove Mass Choir and other choirs will present special music. Each church member will rally with $133 for each year of glorious service and praise.
The church youth will present the church’s history via a PowerPoint presentation.
Speaking for this occasion will be the Rev. C. A. Wallace, pastor of Mt. Sinai Baptist Church in Gaffney. He will be accompanied by his choirs and congregation.
Rev. Byers serves as a member of the Executive Board of the Thickety Mountain Baptist Association, member of the Thickety Mountain Association Trustee Board, Vice President of the Association Ministerial Alliance, and an advisor to the Thickety Mountain Brotherhood Auxiliary. He is also a very active member and participant in all activities of the Cherokee County “Giving Back” Organization. He also received the Bachelor in Theology Degree from North Carolina College of Theology in spring of 2012.
Rev. Byers is married to the former Esther Montgomery of Gaffney, and they have five adult children and ten grandchildren.
The Gospel Choir will be providing special music during the morning worship service.

The ‘Shady Grove Praise Singers Ministries’ will celebrate their 34th anniversary with ‘A Friends and Family Song Fest’ on Sunday, June 2nd, at 4 p.m.
The Praise and Worship service will begin at 3:30 with the Limestone Baptist Church Praise Team.

Houze is a Shelby native. He answered the call into God’s ministry and received his license to preach in 1985. He was ordained in March 1987.
He now serves as Pastor and Teacher of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church in Charlotte, North Carolina. The anointed calling on his life has inspired and triggered the congregation to achieve higher levels of spiritual, educational, and physical growth. Pastor Houze is an inspiring man of God who has a deep desire to win souls for Christ. He is committed to serving God, dedicated to following God’s vision for his church, and excited as God continues to do “exceedingly, abundantly, above all he could or think” within his life and ministry (Ephesians 3:30).
His sincere love for God’s people has led him to minister the Word of God abroad to both the West Indies and Haiti. His leadership abilities have been recognized locally, nationally and internationally. He was featured in the 2001 edition of Gospel Today as one of America’s Most Loved Pastors. In October 2004, Pastor Houze was appointed Chairperson of Evangelism of the General Baptist State Convention of North Carolina, Inc.
Pastor Houze has received the Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts degrees in Theology from Emmanuel Baptist Seminary, Doctor of Ministry degree from Emmanuel Baptist University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from Shaw University.
He is married to Dora Roberts Houze, and they have two daughters and three grandchildren.
